FBG Accounting Manager

This is a hybrid role open to MN residents, ideally those local to the Twin Cities metro area.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

Flagg Bicycle Group (FBG) is represented by multiple current and future related entities with a vision of getting Every Butt on a Bike.

Flagg Bicycle Group, LLC provides management, expertise, administration, and governance for all FBG investments to protect, preserve, and enhance the assets of FBG and to secure a sound future for our businesses.

The FBG Accounting Manager will manage the accounting, financial reporting, treasury, cash forecasting, and budget preparation ensuring financial integrity for the affiliate entities that role up to the Flagg Bicycle Group. Affiliate entities within the group currently consist of FBG, LLC, SmartEtailing, Wheels Manufacturing, Terry Precision Cycling, real estate affiliates, and trusts.

This position will work closely with all FBG accounting staff to ensure a consistent monthly close that represents that business activities are completed accurately and with proper internal controls. In addition, this role will be responsible for annual business plan facilitation and annual and quarterly forecast and cash flow activities.

This role reports to the FBG Controller and Compliance Director. The FBG Senior Accountant and any future FBG accounting staff will report to this position.

Daily Accounting Operations and Team Leadership [60%]

  • Leads daily operations of the Accounting team maintaining the general ledger for affiliate entities. Manage accounting functions of affiliate entities including cash, A/P, A/R, intercompany allocations, payroll accounting and other areas.*
  • Manage month-end close process with goal to decrease time required to close. Goal to close all entities within 10 days. *
  • Develops talent of existing team. Sets clear goals and expectations and holds team accountable for execution & excellence. *
  • Manage staff on completion of intercompany and management fee billings to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Creation of intercompany notes and related party lease agreements.
  • Maintaining and calculating bank covenant ratios/metrics.


Consolidated Financial Reporting and Budgeting* [20%]

  • Work closely with FBG Controller on creation and maintenance of mapping for common chart of accounts to present consolidated financial results. *
  • Lead preparation of the annual budget and interim forecasts and cashflow analysis. Analyze and interpret results.*
  • Plan, organize, measure, and report the performance of corporate entities with meaningful metrics and leadership focused dashboards.*


Tax and 401k Compliance [10%]

  • Collaboration in the tax strategy, returns, and integrity of all Flagg Bicycle Group entities.
  • Coordinate and lead activities related to the FBG 401(k) audit and non-discrimination testing including pulling in resources as needed.


Policies and Internal Controls [5%]

  • Research, review, recommend, and implement new accounting strategies that improve operations or financial information.
  • Provide assistance and act as liaison with other departments, units, and organizations of the company with questions and/or discrepancies. Notify employees of changes in policies, procedures, and/or rules.


Other Tasks and Needs [5%]

  • Assist with future Flagg Bicycle Group Acquisitions.
  • Point person for tax, financial, and insurance audits or reviews.
  • Implement effective internal controls and conduct internal financial reviews for each affiliate operating company.
  • Assist the Controller with preparation of equity and stock documentation as needed.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • 7+ years of experience preferably with a mix of accounting and financial planning
    • 2+ years of leadership and management experience
    • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting or related field
    • Financial reporting and analysis experience
    • Strong understanding of accounting and financial concepts
    • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite of products including high proficiency in Excel.
    • Prophix or a similar financial reporting software.
    • Strong communication skills across various mediums - video, phone, email, and in person
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Previous Accounting Manager level experience preferred
    • Experience working for a family office or closely-held group of companies.
    • CPA, CMA, or CGMA
    • MBA
    • Experience related to the following industries:
      • Manufacturing
      • Software as a service
      • Retail and wholesale
      • Real estate
    • SAP, Sage, NetSuite ERP experience
    • Cost accounting experience
    • Tax experience
    • Software implementation experience

    • Physical Requirements
      • Ability to perform work on a phone and computer extensively.
