Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.BASIC PURPOSEThe purpose of the Food & Nutrition Program Manager is to manage Hope Express, Medically Tailored Meals, Fresh Choice Food Program and all other food/nutrition initiatives.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide direct supervision of Food & Nutrition Program staff including but not limited scheduling and evaluating employeesManage volunteer recruitment, registration, onboarding, placement and supervisionEnsure compliance of food and nutrition programs according to internal policies and contractual termsManage accounts receivable processes for the food and nutrition programs in coordination with Finance & Contracts ManagerManage street outreach servicesOrder, inventory and manage food products, equipment and suppliesPrepare and cook meals, as neededManage menu planning, and ensure menu options are equally nutritious and culturally appropriateManage food donations deliveries and gifts-in-kind recordsManage intake and program eligibility for food & nutrition programsOperate and maintain the mobile kitchen trailer and assigned vehiclesServe on the Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) teamSchedule and coordinate nutrition workshops and trainingsCoordinate with others agencies and providers to ensure continuity of careCoordinate medical referrals in coordination with contracted managed care plansParticipate in weekly case conference meetingsParticipate in program and agency trainings as assignedMaintain accurate participant records in various information management systems; and generate reports as requestedMaintain and execute confidential information according to HIPPA standardsMaintain a highly detailed and organized filling systemEnsure intake and care procedures utilize harm reduction and trauma informed care principlesCheck and respond to emails and voicemails on a regular basisAdhere to confidentiality standardsOther duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTSAbility to speak and write the English language at a high and professional levelHigh degree of confidentialityAble to endorse and promote The Salvation Army's missionAssociate's degree in food service management, Social Work, Human Services,

or

minimum two (2) years of food service management, social service/work and/or related experience preferredComputer literate, in Windows environment (Microsoft Office), Word, Publisher, Excel and Outlook preferredExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Excellent and professional telephone etiquette and presenceExcellent organizational skillsStrong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handling multiple tasks

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSHigh school diplomaMust possess ServSafe Food Handler certificationMust obtain the ServSafe Food Manager certification within first 90 days of employmentMust possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicleMust be 21 years or olderAuthorize The Salvation Army to add name to the CA DMV Pull Notice ProgramComplete The Salvation Army vehicle course trainingMust be able to successfully pass a criminal background check to include a DOJ Livescan Fingerprint check.
