Senior Manager, Continuous Improvement

The hiring rate for this position is $136,000.00 to 157,000.00 per year.

The actual pay may vary based on several factors, including professional experience, hiring location, skills, and competencies.

The Senior Manager, Continuous Improvement will be responsible for leading high-impact continuous improvement projects across OIA Global's worldwide operations. An individual in this role will work with a broad group of stakeholders to prioritize, plan, and then realize opportunities to improve core operating processes within the business. They will be the leader and mentor to continuous improvement specialists, building a team of professionals capable of applying common improvement methodologies throughout both operations and functional areas of the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage a small team of CI Managers, providing guidance and performance review.
  • Direct a combination of continuous improvement specialists and project-specific resources in the completion of process improvement projects.
  • Oversee inbound project evaluation, prioritizing and estimating the impact of different process improvement opportunities.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and potential solutions to reduce waste or increase throughput for core processes, with a particular focus on freight forwarding operations.
  • Track and report on the efficacy of continuous improvement efforts; collaborate with finance to measure the impact of projects.
  • Manage the Continuous Improvement guild, setting meeting agendas and guiding discussion for the working group.
  • Document critical processes across business segments and collaborate with business leaders and training partners in developing standard work.
  • Facilitate lean projects, kaizen events, and other continuous improvement activities.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship to certified Belts to ensure growth of skill sets, sustained project delivery, and leverage of successes.
  • Coach local teams in identification of opportunities and execution of projects according to a defined methodology.
  • Participate in the development and deployment of lean tools and problem-solving standards globally
  • Work with the Director of Continuous Improvement to determine continuous improvement initiative level program scope, budget, schedule, resources, and prioritization.
  • Develop tools that should be adopted by OIA Global to build a culture of continuous improvement
  • Execute ongoing improvement projects, guiding project teams to consistent application of best practices in process improvement (LSS, agile, etc.).
  • Manage continuous improvement specialists to ensure work quality and timeliness.
  • Complete training for certified belts and broader company stakeholders to contribute to building a continuous improvement culture.
  • Leverage analytical tools to link improvement activities to performance measures.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Expertise in a project management discipline (PMP, Agile, etc.)
  • Comfort with presenting complex, data-rich topics to senior executives clearly and concisely.
  • Familiarity with PowerBI and / or CargoWise One a plus.


Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in a technical or business field (engineering preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with at least 5 years in continuous improvement and / or quality control roles with exposure to CI methodologies (Lean, etc.). A strong preference will be given to individuals with experience in logistics or a services industry.
  • Multiple experiences independently leading continuous improvement efforts through their entire lifecycle, applying continuous improvement principles (root cause analysis, five whys, etc.) with limited oversight.
  • Certification in Lean, Lean Six Sigma, or an equivalent process improvement methodology (Black Belt preferred) with significant experience implementing process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working with remote teams to complete short, mid-term (less than three month) projects, as well as long term projects (six months and longer).
  • Comfort with translating stakeholder feedback into defined continuous improvement projects
  • Comfort with presenting complex, data-rich topics to senior executives clearly and concisely.
  • Expertise in a project management discipline (PMP, Agile, etc.) a plus.
  • Familiarity with PowerBI and / or CargoWise One a plus.

  • Infrequent travel.
