joining our team to support the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM).HOW A SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT (SME) WILL MAKE AN IMPACTExecutes tasks and projects relevant to subject matter.Reduces issues to practical recommended options.Explains recommendations to decision-makers in terms that permit decisions.Performs studies and analyses on subjects within the technical scope of work.Develops requirements from a project's inception to its conclusion for a particular IT subject matter area (i.e., simple to complex systems).Assists other project members with analysis and evaluation and with the preparation of recommendations for system improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts in the following specialties: information systems architecture; networking; telecommunications; automation; communications protocols; risk management/electronic analysis; software; lifecycle management; software development methodologies; and modeling and simulation.Recognized at the industry level in a technical field or specialized engineering or technology area and is proficient in relevant engineering principles and practices.Applies experience, skills, and expert knowledge within an engineering discipline to complex assignments. Generates unique concepts as evidenced by synthesis of new products or processes.Creates or uses engineering/scientific tools to solve technical problems.Utilizes and develops tools, techniques, processes and/or facilities such as state-of-the-art simulation environments, laboratories, and test facilities.Provides leadership for engineering activities in a specialized engineering or technology subject area.Serves as a major contributor to technical planning process and for providing technical management and guidance.Is generally recognized as a leader in the industry in their area of expertise; sought out by others in the area of expertise for advice and guidance.Provides expert support, analysis, research, and advice into exceptionally complex problems, and processes relating to the subject matter.Serves as technical expert on executive-level project teams providing technical direction, interpretation, and alternatives. Expertise is in a particular area of Information Technology (e.g., Cybersecurity, Information Systems Architecture, Telecommunications Systems Design, Architecture, Implementation, Information Systems Integration, Software Development Methodologies, Security Engineering, Communications, Automation and Network Systems Management).Performs highly specialized and technical tasks associated with the most current and cutting-edge technologies.May serve as a technical consultant to a project or several projects dealing with area of technical expertise.Coordinates with contract management and Government personnel to ensure the problems have been properly defined and the solutions satisfy customer needs.Analyzes user needs to determine functional requirements for a wide variety of projects; consults with clients to determine optimum design for assigned projects.Performs functional allocations to identify tasks and their inter-relationships.Performs functional modeling based on requirements analysis.Generates recommendations in the form of technical briefings, reports, and other major documents provided to senior level client personnel.Identifies emerging relevant technologies that may result in improvements to current processes and systems.Writes and updates project documentation including system procedures, presentations, and training materials.May serve as technical team or task lead.WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:Education:
High School Diploma/GED with 12 years of related experience, or Associate's Degree with 10 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience.Preferred Skills:
Experience in a rapid paced, time-sensitive, high-quality environment.Strong written and verbal communication skills along with strong customer service.Ability to multi-task, prioritize commitments, and manage time effectively including attention to detail.Proficient with Microsoft Office applications like Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint.Experience with AutoCAD software.
Clearance Level:
TS/SCIRequired Certification(s):
DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract.
IAT II 8570 Baseline Certification:
CISSP or CASP or equivalent (Must obtain within 180 days).Location:
On Customer SiteAdditional:
Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract.Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity.Travel may be required to support the mission.
