O'Hagan Meyer is seeking a full-time Calendar Clerk to join its Newport Beach, CA office. We are looking for candidates that are outgoing, personable, and resourceful. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of legal experience, background in docketing or litigation support is preferred. The Calendar Clerk will be responsible for docketing, in-person, and electronic case document filings, provide timely reports of response dates on a regular basis and work on specific projects and research assignments.
Primary Duties Include but are not limited to:
Maintaining office and attorney calendars.Work in calendaring system (transitioning to Court Alert) to verify dates, upload pertinent case information and advice attorneys of deadlines.Organize and distribute information relating to court calls.Tracking court filings and court deadlines.Drafting, editing, and filing pleadings and discovery with State and Federal Courts and Administrative Agencies.Scheduling meetings and conference calls.Copying, scanning, and saving documents to file.
Ideal candidate should have a very strong understanding of Federal, State and Local court rules and procedures, excellent computer skills with knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, MS Excel, and MS Office, including Outlook; excellent oral and written communication skills; exceptional attention to detail; able to work independently as well as with the team; Working well as a team in a congenial office; exceptional organizational skills. Knowledge of Court Alert and Lexis-Nexis a plus.
Position is full time, M-F with the possibility of some overtime. Salary based on experience and includes excellent benefit package.
