POSITION PURPOSE: Under the direction of the QE / Technical Lead, Inspector A is responsible for the inspection and testing of processes and products to ensure quality. Working with a variety of inspection equipment, methods, processes and products; QA Inspectors will ensure all proper procedures are being followed and documented to maintain ISO and customer standards resulting in total compliance with the company quality policy. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management deems necessary. Employees are and will be held accountable for all duties of the job. Check dimensional accuracy and conformance against published specifications on first piece, In-Process, Finished Goods, Receiving and Outside Process Inspection. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments and gaging equipment including comparators, micrometers, calipers, hard gages, GO/NO GO gages, CMM, profilometer, Roncom, MicroVu and Oasis. Maintain accurate inspection records and certificates per the Quality Management System requirements Perform part layout for PPAP. FAI/ISIR and Other Customer Requests Perform analysis on select processes and report findings Responsible for the detection of defective material and initiation of defective material reports Assists in the quarantine of defective materials Assist with orientation of production employees on quality system procedures, gage maintenance and gage calibration Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High School Diploma and/or G.E.D. plus 1 year quality assurance experience Possess general knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes Mechanically and mathematically adept Exhibit strong attention to detail, problem solving, time management and interpersonal skills Possess data entry and computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite and ERP applications Must be quality conscious and in continual pursuit of improvement Exhibit core values of care, honesty, integrity, respect and responsibility Maintain a clean, orderly and efficient work area Ability to work with limited supervision, in a team environment and in a solo capacity Demonstrate ability to read, write, hear and interpret documents and instructions from both verbal and written English Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and to reach with hands, arms and feet Frequently required to talk and hear, to stand, walk or sit; to balance, stoop and crouch Occasionally required to push, pull and/or safely lift various pieces of equipment or parts weighing up to 35 pounds from floor to table height Vision abilities (corrective or non) include close range, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus Ability to understand and comply with all company, safety and quality policies and procedures and advocate ISO system standards WORKING CONDITIONS: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions.
