Overview

Purpose Statement/Position Summary:

The Dental Services Supervisor provides operational and clinical supervision in the division of Dentistry. Works with the Clinical Service Manager and Dental Faculty to improve the quality of care and customer/staff satisfaction. Responsible for front-line supervision of staff while on the unit. Collaborates with the Manager to implement plans addressing performance improvement, quality improvement, advancement of care delivery, and customer/staff satisfaction. Serves as a work area leader and develops systems to ensure efficient workflow and collaborative relationships with physicians and other members of the interprofessional team. Maintains open communication with the manager regarding patients, family, personnel, and departmental issues.Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

5+ years as a Registered Dental Hygienist required. Pediatrics experience required. Orthodontics experience preferred. Ideal candidate would be required to lead others, have good organizational skills, and have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, both verbally and in writing. Prior managerial or leadership experience in a public healthcare setting, and performance improvement experience preferred. Bilingual highly preferred.Education/Licensure/Certification:

Graduation from an A.D.A. accredited program for dental hygienists. Licensed by the California State Board of Dental Examiners as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Coronal Polish, X-ray, and Sealant certification required. Current AHA CPR Card. Note: Exposure to radiation from dental x-ray equipment.

Pay Scale Information

USD $72,176.00 - USD $129,792.00

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
