Job Description - Manager HIM & Revenue Cycle Comp (2400021C)DescriptionThe Manager of Health Information Management (HIM) will assist and support the Executive Director, Revenue Integrity and the VP, Revenue Cycle and Case Management. The Manager of HIM will have responsibility for the following areas, but not limited to: Release of Information (ROI), document imaging, analysis, transcription, death certificates, physician chart completion, physician escalation, and site-specific regulatory audits. The manager will also oversee all HIM-related vendors and contracts, including, but not limited to, offsite records storage/scanning, third party vendors, and CNH patient portals. The manager will need to be able to interface cross-functionally across the organization and within Revenue Cycle Management.QualificationsMinimum EducationBachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Finance, or other related field (Required)Master's Degree (Preferred)Minimum Work ExperienceAt least five years’ experience in healthcare operations or equivalent experience (Required)Required CertificationsRegistered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)Required Functional KnowledgeDemonstrated knowledge and application of American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), American Association of Medical Transcription (AAMT) Practice Standards, legal regulatory and policy requirements including Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Joint Commission, State of Maryland (COMAR), Office of Civil Rights (OCR), and Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).Functional AccountabilitiesLead organization-wide HIM initiatives, such as the Patient Portal and EHR Record Migrations to ensure alignment with compliance standards.Provide leadership and management expertise for all management and staff in HIM.Plan and conduct meetings with subordinates to ensure compliance with established department practices and to implement all new policies, changes, and standards.Develop, organize, manage, and direct departmental activities, establish work priorities, and develop goals, objectives in relation to CNH and department goals.Ensure that patient medical records are maintained in compliance with all laws, government regulations, and accreditation standards. Ensure that medical records forms, system policies, and principles are applied uniformly and consistently.Establish and maintain professional relationships with national and local HIM Associations and Educational Institutions to gain insight on future trends in the management of HIM. Serve as the clinical site coordinator for all student affiliations.Exhibit expert communication skills to effectively engage employees, direct reports, peers within the leadership team, members of the medical staff, the Executive Team, customers, and vendors.
