We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Technical Solution Architect to join the NIRA project team, a key initiative in the FDA's digital transformation journey. This role will lead the design, prototyping, and implementation of our technology solutions that align with the FDA IT Strategy's objectives, including enhancing collaboration, strengthening infrastructure, and modernizing services.
You will be a critical thinker, adept at translating business requirements into scalable, reliable, and secure architectures. This role requires a deep understanding of software development, infrastructure, cloud technologies, and a passion for staying ahead of industry trends.
Responsibilities:
Architecture Design:
Define and maintain the overall technical architecture of our systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technology best practices.
Technical Leadership:
Guide and mentor development teams, providing technical direction and expertise throughout the software development lifecycle.
Solution Design:
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into detailed technical solutions.
Prototyping:
Develop and test prototypes to validate architectural concepts, explore emerging technologies, and gather feedback from stakeholders.
Technology Evaluation:
Research and evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to ensure our technology stack remains modern and efficient.
Documentation:
Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design documents, and technology roadmaps.
Performance Optimization:
Monitor and analyze system performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure optimal system scalability and reliability.
Security:
Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and mitigate potential risks.
Collaboration:
Partner with project managers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
Proven track record of 10+ years in software development or systems engineering.
5+ years of experience as a Technical Architect or a similar role.
Deep understanding of software architecture patterns, design principles, and methodologies.
Experience in prototyping and proof-of-concept development.
Strong experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure as code.
In-depth knowledge of data processing including data modeling, data transformation, ETL, and visualization techniques.
Expertise in modern software development practices, such as Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in a relevant field.
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
Experience with specific technologies used in our environment (list these if applicable).
Knowledge of ITSM principles and experience integrating solutions within a complex IT infrastructure.
Ability to document, reimagine, and reengineer business processes, aligning them with organizational goals and objectives.
Experience with front-end development technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
