WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Senior Graphic Designer – Captain Fin, SMU will contribute to the overall design and art creation of printable graphics for Captain Fin in apparel, textiles, axs and hardgoods such as fins, as briefed in by global design direction.
This designer will also be responsible for executing art and graphic direction for the liberated brands men’s SMU business, helping drive overall art positioning and marketplace strategy for the printables categories – specifically targeting key accounts, destination programs and quick strike offerings across all men’s brands.
This designer will work with the brand art directors to deliver on specific account, channel and consumer needs to create segmentation and account differentiation.
Create graphics for the global printable range, trims, textile prints and special projects for the Captain Fin brand.Collaborate with the Global Design Director on establishing key seasonal graphic stories for Captain Fin.Execute graphic art in line with the vision for Captain Fin global softgoods, axs and hardgoods seasonal direction.Design and create into identified opportunities as architected in the range as well as bringing consumer relevant ideas and concepts to the table.Help build and engineer patterns in repeat and full tech and in forma for all regional and external team members to apply to their specific needs.Partner with merchandising and sales on a strategic plan to expand the liberated brands men’s printables business in Key Account channels.Work with merchandising and brand art directors from each brand to deliver product / design that executes on the line architecture, channel and segmentation strategies for the printables category.Identify and execute quick strike / supplemental product opportunities based on marketplace and consumer insight / trend.Work with the NA sales team to drive regional alignment while capitalizing on key market trends to identify product segmentation and SMU opportunities.Design into targeted price-points, categories, and silhouettes in accordance with margin requirementsWork closely with development in reviewing prototypes, strike offs, and submits for approval from design concept to production.Ensure that all design, artwork, prints, and fabrics for sourcing are sent in correct format with all correct information to suppliers.Work with development and project management to ensure that all information in line Plan, PLM, and catalog, are all correct and up to date.Identifying and executing color palette / combinations, print, graphic and art opportunities resulting in increased revenue and sell-through for the brand.Help manage freelance sources, so needs are met with all processes.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Degree in graphic design / or equivalent experience in apparel graphic design.5+ years in apparel graphic design, including some textile design, with strong working knowledge of product design and development.Ability to create and implement consumer relevant prints, art, and graphics.Ability to identify key marketplace trends and opportunities that are consistent with brand values and design aesthetic.Knowledge of product development process, calendar, and timelines.Must have knowledge of screen print processes and techniques.Must be able to multitask and work in fast paced environment.Must be proactive with a solution / result-oriented attitude.Must have excellent communication and follow through skills.Must be highly organized and detailed oriented.Effective communication with internal teams, vendors, and partners to insure timely delivery of quality product.Design and product development knowledge across accessory and soft good categories.Knowledge of product development calendar, timelines, and deliverables.Must be MAC computer literate in Applications – Adobe CC, Word, and Excel.Must have strong illustrator and photoshop skills.Must be a team playerExperience with apparel design preferredExperience with PLM systems preferredThis position requires some on-site hours at our HQ in Costa Mesa, CA; however, some duties can be performed remotely

Liberated Brands is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role in Costa Mesa, CA is $75,000 - $90,000. This position is hybrid and, as such, compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skill set, certifications, and specific work location.
