A Career Consultant in the A. B. Freeman School of Business plays a crucial role in fostering student success and facilitating positive career outcomes for both undergraduate and graduate students. A Consultant equips students with lifelong career skills, guiding them in developing strong career strategies to secure internships and full-time positions. The Career Consultant also facilitates career education programs each semester and works collaboratively as part of a dynamic team of career consultants and employer engagement specialists.Key Responsibilities

Fostering student success by providing personalized career coaching, guidance, and strategy development.Equipping students with essential lifelong career skills, including resume development, interview preparation, networking, and job search strategies.Offering one-on-one and group coaching sessions to address individual career goals and challenges.Facilitating career education programs, focusing on practical application and personal growth.Cultivating and maintaining relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders, including students, recruiting representatives, business school colleagues, faculty, and alumni.Collecting and reporting student engagement and outcomes data per university and professional association standards.Collaborating with employer engagement specialists to build and maintain partnerships with potential employers.Contributing to team initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing career services and student outcomes.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Skilled coaching ability.Business acumen, executive presence, and professional demeanor.Effective sales/influencing/recruiting skills.Innovative, creative, proactive, and effective at problem-solving.Effective understanding and management of stakeholders including students, HR and recruiting representatives, university administrators, C-level professionals, executives, faculty, alumni, and parents.Ability to work collaboratively, including as a member of a team to build internal and external relationships.Ability to work with a variety of companies, organizations, and government agencies to connect students for internships and jobs.Ability to work through ambiguity – be agile and adaptive to change.Effective oral and written communication skills.Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and communicating data.Demonstrated or related experience in individual and/or group career consulting.Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and familiarity with other applications such as assessment instruments, recruiting management systems for the delivery of career services, and customer relationship management (CRM) software.Required Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree and at least five years of relevant experience.ORMaster’s Degree and at least three years of relevant experience.Preferred Qualifications

International business experience and language fluency in a second language.Corporate talent acquisition experience or network.Professional certification in career coaching, career management, or related professional credentials.Compensation Information
