Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Engineer Dev Ops – DevSecOps Engineer (24-237) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.
The selected candidate will support the C2BMC DevSecOps team in developing and deploying infrastructure as a service and a platform as a service capability. Assist in managing multiple environments, software deployment, troubleshooting, and automation in a DevSecOps environment for a critical customer program. We are using the leading DevOps practices and tooling (Hashicorp Tools, GitLab CI/CD, Ansible Tower, and Nexus Pro). We work on systems administration-related issues with hardware and software for different network environments.
Essential Functions:
Will be in a collaborative team environment with other DevSecOps engineers and other program development and deployment teams.
Knowledge of DevSecOps principles.
Support deployment of custom software solutions integrating COTS, GOTS, and developed software.
Propose system administration process improvement to reduce maintenance requirements by working with the design team and manufacturers.
Determines system requirements, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and system configuration maintenance.
Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies.
Develops and recommends corrective actions.
May provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers.
Basic Qualifications:
An active Secret clearance is required to start.
5 years with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field; 3 years with a Master of Science degree in Computer Science or related field; 9 years' experience in lieu of a degree.
Must possess a DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
Experience with Linux or Windows System Administration.
Scripting skills in languages such as bash or PowerShell.
Experience with automation.
Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.
Must be responsible for working independently and as an SME on large projects.
Experience with Ansible Automation Platform, including Ansible Tower.
Experience with HashiCorp Packer and Vault.
Experience with Gitlab CI/CD.
Experience with Nexus.
Experience in virtualization technology, including, but not limited to, VMware. Understanding of HP server configuration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding the software development life cycle is highly desired.
Experience with Agile Methodology is highly desired.

$97,500 - $153,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
