Position Summary

This position acts in a sales and consultative manner, working directly with new and existing customers to engineer, research and prepare presentation of product, machinery and line design to satisfy specific account requirements while maximizing company profits. Supporting national marketing efforts and leading local marketing programs.Reports to: Regional DirectorLocation: Los Angeles (Hybrid)FSLA Status: ExemptPrimary Duties and ResponsibilitiesDetermine customer specific needs - research and prepare presentation of product/system designed to meet the needs of the customer.Must sell across multiple platforms - flexibles, rigid containers and equipment automation.Understand film structures in order to optimize barrier properties to meet or exceed customers’ expectations regarding performance and shelf-life.Must understand all facets of primary packaging and all related packaging equipment.Train Sales Team on packaging equipment and consumables.Understand and clearly articulate technical details of packaging manufacturing from extrusion, lamination, thermoforming and high-end printing in order to sell our company’s strategic advantages to our customers and prospects.Experience with roll stock, premade pouches, lidding film, forming and non-forming films, rigid trays and containers, high barrier and aseptic packaging.Develop and present technical product presentations and quotations to technical managers, production managers and at the highest levels within designated customer organizations.Supervise the acquisition, ordering, delivery, installation and start-up of product order for end-user account.Plan focus and target accounts, markets, industries or geography activity plans.Identify and qualify state-of-the-art new packaging equipment and/or vendors with new technology.Performs other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.QualificationsEducation and Experience:Bachelor’s (4-year) degree in packaging, engineering, business or a related field.Master’s degree preferred in a related field.5 years + of experience in consumable packaging industry specializing in materials and/or equipment.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Well versed in flexible packaging, structures, food market.Good understanding of flexible structures and their applications.Strong communicator, in writing, verbally in person or from a distance.This position requires the ability to demonstrate the following competencies:Commercial AcumenContractingProcess design, Problem Solving and JudgmentNegotiationsLeadershipManage ExecutionTeamworkReasonable AccommodationsReasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
