Summary
:
The Director of Online Merchandising is responsible for maximizing online sales and enhancing the digital shopping experience through strategic planning, effective product management, and continuous optimization. The primary responsibility will be to ensure a seamless and engaging online experience for our customers by strategically merchandising products, optimizing search functionality, and analyzing sales data to make informed decisions. This role will drive the promotional calendar, content requirements, product activations and lead the online merchandising team.
Essential Functions of the Position:
Curate product assortments and collections based on sales trends, seasonality, and promotional initiatives. Align merchandising strategies with promotional campaigns and customer communications. Lead and manage the promotional calendar and execution to support the sales plan and company goals. Develop the email marketing strategy from a product and content lens and manage execution with the CRM and creative teams. Manage the team for product categorization, tagging, and descriptions to enhance searchability and discoverability. Generate reports and insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement in online merchandising efforts. Optimize On Site search by leveraging analytics and customer behavior. Communicate merchandising priorities, updates, and recommendations effectively to stakeholders. Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and technologies to improve online merchandising practices. Supervisory Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the online merchandise team, including the merchandise manager, online coordinator and copywriter.
Focus is to ensure product is activated online timely through set up of images and product information in the content management system and execution of promotional strategy.
Essential Qualifications: • Creative mindset with a keen eye for design and visual aesthetics. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. • Work extremely well with direct reports and cross functional departments. • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and quality assurance.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, e-commerce, or related field. 5+ years of experience in e-commerce merchandising, preferably apparel. • Proficiency in web analytics tools and content management systems.
