The Chicago office of an international law firm has an immediate opening for a mid to senior level Coverage Associate. The attorney will be responsible for the day to day handling of litigated cases, drafting coverage reports and letters, and servicing several national and international client accounts. Admission to the Illinois bar is required.
Key Responsibilities
Interact with clients while managing a busy case loadDraft pleadings, discovery demands, perform legal research, answer complaints and draft dispositive motionsConduct depositions, argue motions and attend court hearings and trialsResponsible for the day to day handling of litigated cases and assisting with oversight of several national client accountsDrafting coverage reports and reservation of rights lettersRequired Experience
Minimum 4 years coverage litigation and commercial business experienceCandidate should be organized, efficient and have excellent research and writing skillsAbility to multitask, analyze complex issues, and communicate effectivelyMust be willing to work independently and manage paralegalsMust be licensed to practice in IllinoisBeing licensed in Indiana or Wisconsin would be helpfulThis is a developing role and the job description is not exhaustive and may vary in line with changes in the team's objectives and firm policy.Please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments or additional support to be made.
