Performs high quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients, including general, gynecological, vascular, and pediatric-specific exams. Provides conscientious patient care while adhering to all quality and safety standards. Performs administrative duties including scheduling appointments, patient instructions, and maintenance of records. This position requires regular communication with patients, families, and caregivers, and may involve working at all Children's Colorado locations and being on call as needed.Additional Information

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography programCERTIFICATION(S):

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Abdomen (AB) specialty requiredRegistered Vascular Technologist (VT) required within one year of hirePediatric Sonography specialty required within 2 years of hireAmerican Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider

Responsibilities

POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE:Neonate-

Infancy- > 30 days to 1 yrToddlers- > 1 yr to 3 yrsPre-schoolers- > 3 yrs to 5 yrsSchool age- > 5 yrs to 13 yrsAdolescent- > 13 yrs to 18 yrsAdult- > 18 yrs to 65 yrsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Performs high quality ultrasound images while accurately demonstrating anatomy and pathology.Facilitates patient flow daily; manages STAT/urgent and high priority patients.Provides age-appropriate care and prepares patients for procedures.Communicates procedure details to patients, families, and coworkers.Operates all Ultrasound equipment following safety procedures.Maintains competency in Radiology Information System (RIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).Acts as first responder in emergencies and provides Basic Life Support (BLS).Verifies patient allergies and clinical indications prior to contrast administration.Assists Provider with procedures as necessary.Follows department policies and raises concerns regarding non-compliance or safety.Participates in quality assurance/control and safety programs.Reports equipment malfunctions or errors promptly.Communicates effectively in both verbal and written forms.Maintains flexibility around scheduling and assignments.Other Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $75,957.07 to $113,935.61Hourly Salary Range: $36.52 to $54.78Benefits Information
