The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for the position of

Assistant Professor of Analytical Chemistry, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, College of Sciences [R0141404] .

ROLE of the POSITION

The new tenure-track faculty member will be expected to:

Contribute to the undergraduate and graduate teaching in Analytical and General Chemistry.

Develop a vigorous externally-funded research program in an area of Analytical Chemistry (in particular bioanalytical, radioanalytical, instrumental, and/or environmental analysis).

Engage in service to the University and community.

Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research.

The new faculty member will primarily teach existing courses in Analytical Chemistry, such as undergraduate Quantitative Analysis Lecture/Laboratory, Instrumental Analysis Lecture/Laboratory, and General Chemistry; and graduate courses such as Advanced Instrumental Analysis (Organic or Inorganic) and Quality Assurance and Statistics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or a closely related analytical discipline. The successful candidate must possess a proven record of research accomplishments and post-doctoral research training or equivalent research/industrial experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
