This position is HYBRID, requiring 2 or more days per week onsite in the Westport, CT or Stamford, CT office.

What is the Managed Options Strategies Team responsible for?

We are an experienced team of investment professionals that are building an industry-leading derivative management platform to enhance and protect customer assets. Our products are designed to aid customer cash flow and minimize the impact of market volatility, and are enabled by our internally-developed desktop application. We develop using Microsoft C# with a focus on flexible architecture. We use Microsoft Azure as a platform to provide and contain our resources.

We work in a geographically-distributed environment, with business hours directly related to the trading hours of the US domestic trading exchanges.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Senior Software Engineer – C#?

Developing highly performant, mission-critical, real-time Windows desktop applicationsPartnering with stakeholders to design and implement product features that are flexible, easy to use, and error resistant; interface with Clients, Software Development, Network Operations, and Customer Service personnel to diagnose and correct problemsCreating and maintaining documentation used by end users to support the application on a day-to-day basisProviding unit tests for business processes to ensure correctnessUsing industry best practices to ensure source code security and integrityMaintaining client confidentiality and acting in the client’s best interestCollaborating with the technology team to refine and implement clear coding standardsParticipating in the refinement of CI / CD infrastructure for product correctness and releasesDiscovering and implementing new technologies and techniques to increase security, productivity, and ease of maintenance

What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

4-year college degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field10+ years of recent software development experienceDeep understanding of software development techniques and patterns in high-level programming languagesExperience with multi-tier ArchitecturesExperience with Object/Relational Models (ORM) for database accessExperience with parallel programming and asynchronous patternsAbility to learn and adapt rapidly.Familiarity with financial data and financial industry standards, concepts, and processesExperience or knowledge of investments and security trading preferred.

What technology skill sets are critical to the success of this role?

Strong Object-Oriented understanding, with a preference for .NET C#Strong Relational Database understanding, with a preference for Microsoft SQL serverExperience with desktop application development preferredExperience and use of Git repository preferred

Franklin Templeton offers employees a competitive and valuable range of total rewards—monetary and non-monetary—designed to support the whole person and to recognize their time, talents, and results. Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We expect the salary for this position to range between $155,000 and $185,000.
