Tuvli, an Akima company, is hiring for a Counterterrorism (CT) Operations Analyst to support our DoS client located in Washington, DC. The Counterterrorism Operations Analyst supports the Operations Team in the planning, implementation, administration, and evaluation of multi-regional campaigns and programs designed to discredit Violent Extremist Organizations (VEOs); degrade their ability to recruit members, supporters, and sympathizers; and build resilience against their ideologies, tactics, and narratives among vulnerable populations. The GEC CT Operations Team, in close coordination with the broader U.S. interagency and our allies and partners, is charged with research, development, and dissemination of messaging that will resonate with targeted foreign audiences.ResponsibilitiesSupports the Operations Team through planning, budget, administrative, scheduling, coordination, and evaluation processes.Schedules, coordinates, and supports meetings, including reserving conference rooms, lining up equipment, drafting and disseminating agendas and other materials, and providing logistical support as needed.Serves as notetaker, drafts, and clears readouts, and tracks/follows up with action officers as needed.Prepares leadership to participate in activities and events, including through in-person briefings and by drafting and clearing briefing checklists, talking points, remarks, Q&A, responses to taskers, and other written materials as assigned.Coordinates input from across the team as appropriate.Liaises with vendors, regional and functional bureaus, interagency partners, and staff of U.S. Embassies and Consulates in priority countries and emerging areas of concern in support of GEC CT operational efforts as assigned.Supports the Operations Team in resource planning functions, working closely with GEC CT support staff.Drafts internal memoranda for additional funding requests as necessary.Monitors trends in terrorist activities as well as CVE efforts identifies opportunities and recommends ways to fill programming gaps.As needed, study, develop, implement, and coordinate U.S. government efforts to recognize, understand, expose, and counter foreign state propaganda and disinformation efforts aimed at undermining United States national security interests.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Knowledge of current analytic thought on counterterrorism/counter violent extremism (CT/CVE) and ability to recognize and understand the propaganda of our terrorist adversaries, including an in-depth knowledge of terrorists’ narratives and the ability to identify and expose the gaps in those narratives.Ability to synthesize and understand information and relevant insights from a variety of sources and a spectrum of viewpoints. Familiarity with the manipulative and deceptive tactics of VEOs and other high-control groups; logical fallacies commonly employed by VEO leaders to mask gaps in their narratives; and methods for helping populations overcome societal factors that increase vulnerability to VEO recruitment.Skill in oral and written communication.Ability to establish liaison within the foreign policy and intelligence communities to exchange information vital to both spheres of operation.Organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities.Creative thinking and analytical skills.Written and oral communication skills.Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and multi-task in a high volume, fast-paced work environment.Maintain a flexible, team-oriented approach to work.Excellent ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues.A minimum of ten years’ experience in any combination of the following: post-secondary education, military, government, professional, and/or overseas experience.Active Top-Secret Clearance.Posted Salary Range:
