USAC's target compensation range for a new hire into this position is $85,000 - $113,880 USD per year. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors based on knowledge, skills, and experience, as evaluated throughout the interview process. In addition, this position may be eligible for an annual performance bonus. We are currently seeking a dynamic and collaborative professional to serve as a Senior Paralegal for the Office of General Counsel.ResponsibilitiesProvides senior legal professional support to the Office of the General Counsel.Collaborates with attorneys and researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, administrative codes, administrative decisions, judicial decisions, and treatises. Drafts legal documents, such as internal legal advice, briefs, appeal responses, and contracts.Reviews and analyzes legal documents and recommends appropriate courses of action to attorneys, including with regard to third-party Letters of Credit/Opinions of Counsel and appeals and audits.Oversees the collection and compilation of legal data for regular reports and administrative tracking.Assists other members of the USAC Office of General Counsel and USAC business units concerning interpretation of rules and regulations related to universal service support and other appropriate funds.Prepares written and verbal analysis and guidance.Collaborates and assists attorneys to provide advice regarding transactional matters, including commercial and/or government contracts.Assists with case planning, development, and management.Provides guidance and feedback to junior non-attorney, legal professionals, as applicable.Other specific duties as assigned.About YouThe successful candidate will excel at operating in a diverse and fluid environment and will be crucial for the success of the Office of General Counsel.Bachelor's degree and at minimum least five (5) years of relevant experience required.Juris Doctorate or master's degree a plus.Telecommunications or tech industry experience preferred.Extremely dependable, professional, and committed to the highest standards.Responsive and dependable with the ability to respond effectively to internal and external clients and complete complex tasks quickly while producing high-quality results.Proactive and highly organized, with high attention to detail and follow through.Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact at all levels.Excellent analytical and proven problem-solving skills.Makes sound decisions, exhibits initiative and intuitive thinking, and is oftentimes consulted by others for advice and opinions.Ability to absorb information from multiple sources and produce clear, accurate, and concise communications.Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to translate complex analytical findings into comprehensive insights for business stakeholders.Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.USAC is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all employees.
