POSITION SUMMARY

Our Staff Accountant, Lodging will be an integral member of our Shared Services Accounting Team here at Alterra Mountain Company. This position is responsible for Lodging Accounting, Homeowner Accounting, and Accounts Receivable functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIESLodging Accounting responsibilities include daily/weekly/monthly review of Lodging revenues and expenses to ensure accurate posting to the general ledgerPreparation of daily/weekly/month end journal entries for Lodging Revenue and Owner Share RevenueUnderstand the flow of information through the property management and general ledger systemsEnsure a complete and accurate month-end close process within established deadlines of the companyPrepare monthly Homeowner Statements of account, as required and defined by each resort Rental Management Agreement, and distribute revenue payments accordinglyPreparation of annual 1099-MISC reporting for Homeowner revenue paymentsAssist General Ledger Team with account reconciliation research for all Lodging accountsPrepare monthly Travel Agent statements and payments for commissionable reservationsMaintain customer database for Accounts ReceivablePrepare and distribute Accounts Receivable Invoices on a daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual basisReconcile and apply incoming payments for Accounts Receivable daily

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge:Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferredExperience working with Springer Miller Systems (SMS) property management software preferredExperience working with Galaxy/Litespeed preferredExperience working with Owner Relations accounting software preferredFundamental understanding of US GAAP preferred but not requiredProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not required

Experience:2+ years of accounting experience, specifically Lodging/Homeowner Accounting and Accounts ReceivableExperience using multiple accounting and property management systems

COMPENSATION

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of the Company's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Denver area base salary range: $50,000 - $70,000 per year
