Postdoctoral Fellow - Epigenetic & Molecular Carcinogenesis (Ting Lab)

University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, United States, 77246

Computational Postdoctoral FellowWe are recruiting motivated and talented individuals with expertise in next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis to join the laboratory of Dr. Angela Ting. The Ting Lab focuses on epigenetic regulation in both healthy and disease contexts. We have pioneered NGS-based DNA methylome assay and analytical methods. We have successfully applied these tools to studying genome-wide changes in DNA methylation patterns in human diseases. In addition to mapping the epigenetic mark, we are also working on understanding the functional consequences of these aberrant patterns and the molecular mechanisms that initiate and propagate such abnormal features.LEARNING OBJECTIVESConduct research on cancer epigeneticsPlan, organize, perform, and monitor daily project protocolsCollect, prepare, and maintain required research documentationPrepare and present research progress and resultsELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTSApplicant must be recent M.D. or Ph.D. graduate. Prior experience in the areas of transcription regulation, RNA biology, single cell/spatial gene expression, and genome architecture are preferred. Strong coding capabilities in R, C++, Python, and/or other common computer languages are essential.POSITION INFORMATIONMD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
