Remote (Company based in Los Angeles, CA) Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Director to join our dynamic and innovative team. This is a remote position, providing the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to a Los Angeles-based company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax strategy, compliance, and leadership, with the ambition and potential to advance to a partner role. Business development skills/experience is required. A book of business is a huge plus. Key Responsibilities: Tax Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive tax strategies to optimize client outcomes and minimize liabilities. Provide strategic tax planning advice for business transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and other financial decisions. Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring clients are informed and compliant.

Tax Compliance and Reporting: Oversee the preparation and review of complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts. Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax returns and related documents. Conduct thorough tax research to resolve complex issues and provide well-supported recommendations.

Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, offering expert advice and exceptional service. Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional services and growth. Represent clients during tax audits and disputes, providing expert support and advocacy.

Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and knowledge. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless service delivery and knowledge sharing.

Path to Partner: Demonstrate leadership, innovation, and business development skills to contribute to the firm's growth and success. Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes at the executive level. Develop and execute a plan for professional growth, with a clear path to becoming a partner within the firm.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred). Minimum of 7 years of experience in tax strategy, planning, and compliance. Proven track record of success in a senior tax role, with leadership experience. Expertise in tax software and technology. Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships. High level of integrity and professionalism.
