The MVC is a statewide collaborative quality initiative (CQI), aiming to improve the health of Michigan through sustainable, high-value healthcare and enable Michigan patients to access the right care, at the right cost, and the right time. MVC provides member organizations with claims-based healthcare utilization data to empower local quality improvement activities. In addition to leveraging claims data, MVC provides an infrastructure for collaboration and the sharing of best practices between its member hospitals and physician organizations.Responsibilities*
Using large administrative data sets, write and edit programs to clean, manage, merge, and analyze data; extract, transform, and merge raw data from various data sources into usable forms, and construct datasets according to the specifications provided.Perform statistical programming utilizing SAS and a variety of other statistical software packages to summarize data and create reports and/or visual presentations.Design, create and implement programs and templates to collect, display and analyze data for assigned projects and/or clients; design and prepare standard and ad hoc reports, and summaries for statistical analysis and planning purposes.Document procedures for future reference and make recommendations for data analysis process improvements.Present analytic methods and new approaches to accomplishing goals internally and externally.Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position.Minimum 5 years of experience analyzing and interpreting process data, clinical outcomes, and costs of care.Demonstrated proficiency working with large administrative datasets using statistical software programs (SAS preferred but STATA, SPSS, and R are also acceptable), data visualization, statistical models, and significance testing.Strong organization skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage competing demands and prioritize to meet deadlines.Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.Professional, team-driven attitude, and proven ability to take initiative.Application Deadline
