Lead the effort to design, develop, and program methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions through the utilization of 3rd party and custom-developed data science models.Collaborate with business stakeholders and counterparts from across the organization to define success criteria; collaborate with engineering partners to plan for and deliver productionalized solutions; collaborate with other data scientists and AI specialists to create AI products and other data science and machine learning solutions, including the opportunity to learn to fine-tune LLMs.Develop and code software programs, algorithms, and automated processes to cleanse, prepare, integrate, and evaluate large datasets from disparate diverse sources.Identify key insights from large data sources; interpret and communicate insights from data and analysis to product, service, and business managers.Lead projects with both hands-on coding/analysis and thought leadership with a minimum viable product and minimum lovable product mindset leveraging the best technologies and methodologies appropriate for the business need and maturity.Proactively identify and communicate the challenges, opportunities, risks, and threats associated with project work to ensure the timely completion of the entire product.How You’ll Engage

Plus if you have experience fine-tuning open source LLMs.7+ years of relevant work experience (e.g., as a data scientist), including experience applying advanced analytics to planning and infrastructure problems.OR 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Master’s or PhD in STEM or a related field.Advanced experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Python) and database languages (e.g., SQL).Advanced experience building, cleaning, and testing data quality for data sets preceding modeling.Strong problem-framing, problem-solving, project management skills, customer service, and communication skills.Deep understanding of modeling and statistical approaches (e.g. logistic regression, linear regression, random forests, etc.).Experience with end-to-end feature development (owning feature definition, roadmap development, and experimentation).Experience distilling informal customer requirements into problem definitions, dealing with ambiguity, and competing objectives.Bachelor’s degree in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, STEM, or a related field.What Would Make You Stand Out
Experience creating and productionalizing LLM solutions by fine-tuning open source models.Lead DS projects end-to-end.MLOps experience.Masters or PhD in a related field.Combination of technical and business acumen.Experience with Dataiku.Experience in Agile methodologies.The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
