The Senior Strategic Data Scientist at CoverMyMeds makes a significant contribution to the success of our company. This role is broadly responsible for value proposition refinement and supporting key customer teams by providing world-class analytics and insight into our vast store of live data. This position collaborates extensively with business units and channels across the company and supports the business goals of external clients.Our ideal candidate would be based in our hub city of Columbus, OH, and be able to work a hybrid schedule, but we will consider highly-qualified, fully-remote candidates. We are unable to provide current or future sponsorship for this position.Our ideal candidate is curious, thrives in a constantly changing environment and seamlessly crafts data narratives to communicate key findings and actionable insights to our customers and colleagues.Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer analytics matters.Frequently develops proactive data and storytelling to help anticipate and meet the strategic needs of a customer and Customer Success Team (CST) leadersDevelop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsorsDevelop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets, track model performance ensuring alignment to business value driversUtilize complex statistical and predictive modeling to make predictions about future outcomes and in multiple scenariosMine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques, and business strategiesEnsure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectivesClearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly analytics requests to internal and external stakeholdersLead new data-driven insight presentations with customersUse creative means to proactively identify areas of improvement to enhance product value for clientsForecast and track key account metrics (e.g., quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as neededPerform in-depth analysis to identify key business risks and opportunities and make recommendations to improve overall profitability and valueDistill complex data and relationships into clear, concise charts and visualizationsContribute insight to strategic and tactical decisions that impact competitive position, product design, analytics, and operationsBecome a subject matter expert (SME) on CoverMyMeds programs and the pharmaceutical industryWork on high-profile customer accounts in collaboration with account management teams.Skills You’ll NeedBA/BS degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Public Health Information, Bioinformatics, or equivalent quantitative field5-7 years of experience in an analytics roleStatistical Software experience (PYTHON, R, MATLAB, SAS, etc.)Demonstrated data mining technical knowledge and skills for use in decision trees, multivariate analysis, segmentation modeling, factor analysis, regression analysis, forecasting, machine learning, etc.Curious problem solver by nature; able to quickly make sense of complex data issuesDriven, self-motivated, team player adept at working in environment with competing prioritiesStrong experience with data mining, analysis, and providing insightsAdept at creating queries, writing reports, and presenting findingsAdvanced proficiency in SQLAdvanced proficiency in data visualization tools e.g., Excel, Tableau, etc.Able to communicate and manage expectationsExcellent communication and presentation skills including to senior leadership and C-Suite external stakeholders; able to “think on your feet” and respond to questions where the answer is not known or not straightforward (able to provide complex analysis in layman’s terms – at varying levels of audience, from peer set to C-suite)Preferred SkillsMS or Advanced degreeIndustry Expertise – Specifically in Insurance, Pharmaceutical, or Healthcare.Collaboration – Key success factors in this role include leading without direct authority, building relationships across multiple functions, and listening to input and perspectives from across the organization, customers, and industry stakeholders.Passion - The candidate should have a passion for improving US healthcare and a desire to join a team that focuses every day on enabling healthier lives through the work that we do.
