Job SummaryJob Purpose:

Imerys EHS Manager is responsible for developing, planning, and coordinating environmental and health & safety activities to ensure employees & contractors engagement and regulatory compliance. In general, leads EHS activities to reach zero accidents & improve environmental, safety & health performance, in line with Imerys group and industry policies.

Responsibilities

Inspects the facilities to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.

Implements inspection policies and procedures.

Coordinates environmental and health & safety audits according to procedures and protocol requirements for all areas of the company.

Collects Environmental, Health & Safety annual training needs.

Schedules and organizes trainings to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and technical issues along with other relevant topics.

Creates and updates task-based risk assessments.

Ensures industrial and mining operations of the hub are run in compliance with local environmental regulations, best-in-class industry practices, and Imerys guidelines.

Creates inspection reports to document findings using Imerys integrated tools.

Manages security guards and access control of Imerys facilities.

Is responsible for the guarding of the Hub and hygiene by controlling security guards and sanitation employees.

Monitors fire safety rules and sea pollution contingency plan.

Maintains records and creates reports of discharge of employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.

Promotes a strong Safety culture across the Hub.

Supports sites to drive continuous improvements by prioritizing improvement action plans and risk prevention.

Accident management, ensuring timely communication, conducting investigation and root cause analysis to define in collaboration with the site managers and local EHS managers the corrective action plans.

Performs Environment, H&S site gap analysis with Imerys guidelines and local regulatory EHS standards.

In general, role & responsibilities should be beyond the scope of Greek Mines & Quarries operations regulations (ΚΜΛΕ).

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mining or Mineral Resources Engineering or equivalent specialty.

Working experience in EHS and/or Mining sector.

Mastеrs’ degree would be a plus.

Fluent in the English language (writing and verbal).

Very good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.

Knowledge of environmental regulations and policies will be considered as a plus.
