Assist in building and developing a dynamic customer centric sales and customer service team. Travel to showroom locations and provide sales and operations leadership and/or support to ensure sales growth targets and key operational metrics are met while maintaining compliance with companies' core value and policies. Effectively manage the sales team to accomplish monthly, quarterly and annual goals.Responsibilities:Employees:Assist with hiring and managing sales teamProvide support, coaching and direction to ensure comprehensive understanding of Visual Comfort’s approach to sales, customer service, and showroom operational proceduresPartner and foster a strong working relationship with Business Development Specialist(s)Create and manage a proactive sales and business development approach to target and convert new prospective customersDemonstrate and ensure customer service excellence to maximize customer retentionUtilize and analyze available sales and operations data to drive sales behaviors and prioritiesLead onboarding and continuous training for staffActively support and participate in the sales process and customer interaction both inside and outside of the showroomWhen needed, manage and execute all stages of the sales process from opportunity to invoice to ensure proper follow-up, clean sales, minimal returns and customer satisfactionShowroom Operations:Ensure compliance with all company and showroom policies and proceduresMaintain a clean and attractive showroom in accordance with our visual standardsIn cooperation with the Visual Merchandising and Operations teams, assist with merchandising and managing the showroom inventoryBecome proficient in and train staff on the company’s point of sale and operating systems - oversee staff compliance with company procedures and operating processesMaintain sales floor and all other showroom areas, including stock room, in an organized manner to enhance safety and efficiencyCoordinate with internal teams to drive successful showroom product resets, build outs, and installationsCoordinate activities to facilitate shipping and receiving in accordance with established proceduresContract appropriate external resources (cleaning crew, maintenance) to support showroom operations - order and maintain office and cleaning suppliesEnsure showrooms are open and ready for business each dayCommunication & Reporting:Routinely communicate store status including sales, returns, aging, personnel and request assistance as neededPrepare timely monthly reporting in accordance with company requirementsEnsure accurate showroom inventory, sales reports and bank recordsRequirements:3+ years direct management experience in a retail store or showroom and sales experience, preferably in the luxury home furnishings, lighting or building materials industriesExperience in Interior design, custom home building products, luxury home furnishing and/or lighting industry requiredCollege graduate requiredAbility to lead and motivate othersExceptional organizational and follow-up skillsAbility to work independently as well as be an effective team playerAbility to maintain a professional demeanor at all timesAbility to take the initiative to get the job doneKeen eye for design and creativityAbility to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and changing prioritiesStrong analytical and decision-making skillsAbility to enter data, navigate screens and retrieve data in point-of-sale systemAbility to handle confidential and sensitive informationStrong operations skills in a customer-service environmentMust have the ability and willingness to travel 90% of the timeWe Provide:Competitive base salary and annual bonus compensationStructured training programCompetitive Medical BenefitsMinimal cost for Vision and DentalCompany provided Life Insurance and Short Term Disability401k match up to 4% of your contributionGenerous vacation program with up to 14 days paid vacation the first year
