UM BWMC features one of the state’s busiest emergency departments, as well as a team of experts who care for our community and one another.This role is for SLP - Supplemental/PRN, 2 weekend days per month, some weekdays available is preferred.As a Speech Language Pathologist you will:Assessment of patients/residents including the development, evaluation, and modification of the plan of care.Interprets and performs complex patient care procedures specific to their area of expertise.Have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient/resident outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care.Render speech pathology services to inpatients/residents and outpatients, planning and conducting screening/assessment, developing treatment plans, delivering or supervising the delivery of treatment intervention and education for the purpose of improving the patient’s/resident’s feeding, functional communication, and cognitive abilities to improve the patient’s overall functional status and/or reduce the burden on the caregiver.The Speech-Language Pathologist will function as a multidisciplinary team member within the hospital/facility and in interactions with other health care providers. Patients/residents served include all age groups (Infant through Adult-Geriatric), but primarily Adult-Geriatric.Minimum Requirements:MA/MS in Speech Pathology, or its equivalent required.Certification of Clinical Competency (CCC) by Board of American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred. Possesses current Maryland State license, or is eligible.One year of recent acute/subacute experience preferred (includes CFY).Previous experience using a business office suite, such as Microsoft Office, is required.1 year of acute care experience is required.Current BLS certification or obtained prior to providing patient care is required.All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
