The Environmental, Health and Safety Director is to provide environmental, Health and Safety support to site leadership and safety personnel in (5) facilities with direct oversight over (2) facilities. The Director will consult and work with various teams to formulate safety policies, programs, procedures, and most importantly foster a safety culture.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.Drive a Culture of EHS throughout the business to reduce incidents.Identify and implement strategies to improve EHS procedures and policies.Facilitate regulatory visits by internal and external entities, as required.Act as a mentor, coach, trainer, and subject matter expert to direct reports as well as operational management teams.Support corporate EHS activities and advise executive leadership team on changes in the industry.Manage Workers’ Compensation Claims and Return to Work programs in tandem with our Safety and Leave specialists.Participation in relevant training measures in order to keep up to date on skills and expertise.Inform and consult on matters of planning, execution, and maintenance of equipment; purchasing technical equipment; training on health and safety procedures; designing workplaces/workstations, working processes as well as emergency precautions.Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards.Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.Reviews accident and incident reports.Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Skills and Abilities:Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.Ability to work independently and capable of forming strong working relationships/partnerships with Site Leadership teams and hourly workforce.A thorough knowledge of applicable government regulations, safety compliance, and industrial hygiene.Business acumen, strong analytical skills, strategic thinking abilities, and an understanding of organizational behavior.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to conduct training in front of an audience.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong supervisory and leadership skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field required.At least 7 years of EHS experience.Experience in food and beverage or an industrial manufacturing environment required.Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an Employment Visa at the time.
