We see ourselves as vital contributors, playing a role in communities, the environment, and sustainability while carrying out our mission.We are looking for two Veterinary Technician Assistant's to join our team!The Veterinary Technician Assistant supports Registered Veterinary Technicians and Senior Veterinary Assistants in patient care and treatment within the hospital. The VTA also assists with daily workflow, client communications, patient care, and other skilled tasks as needed.

compensation

for this role falls between

$20 - $26 hourly.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Patient Restraint: Safely restrain patients for radiographs, exams, and procedures.Radiograph Assistance: Ensure proper body positioning during radiographs.Vital Signs Monitoring: Record patient vital signs and monitor progress.Surgical Assistance: Assist in surgical procedures and preparation.Medical Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain medical equipment.Phlebotomy and Lab Tests: Perform phlebotomy, cystocentesis, and routine lab tests.Drug Dosage Calculation: Accurately calculate drug dosages, including CRIs.Treatment Administration: Administer treatments and injections per doctor’s instructions.Medical Record Documentation: Document patient care in treatment sheets and AIS.Pharmaceutical Administration: Administer and process prescribed medications.Facility Maintenance: Keep client, patient, and work areas clean and stocked.Veterinary Husbandry: Provide care, including bedding, feeding, and cleaning.Communication: Relay patient updates to doctors and clinical teams.Client Interaction: Assist clients during intake, visits, and phone inquiries.Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned.Requirements:

Education & Experience: High school diploma and 2+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry.Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to interact with staff and clients using tact, patience, and professionalism, maintaining confidentiality as needed.Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety practices and hospital procedures.Mathematical Skills: Perform calculations for drug doses, invoices, and estimates.Communication: Effective oral and written communication skills.Administrative & Clinical: Ability to multi-task and follow through on tasks reliably.Time Management: Efficient time management and triage skills, ensuring accuracy and quality.Technical Skills: Proficient with MS Office and hospital software for entering clinical charges.Licensing: Obtain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days.Benefits:
