offers support and comes fully equipped to help you do what YOU do best, provide care for our patients!DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:THE ONLY LEVEL 1 TRAUMA CENTER IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS!This unit has a highly experienced team that supports 24 new state of the art inpatient/outpatient operating rooms and 8 heart and vascular and neurology interventional procedure rooms, performing surgical procedures to restore and enhance the lives of patients.This unit operates 24/7 with coverage and support expectations of weekends and off-shift rotations at least quarterly.Nurse Managers responsibilities are centralized within five major areas:
Clinical Practice and Quality Outcomes, Human Resource Leadership, Management of the Environment, Financial Growth and Stewardship, and Strategic Planning.POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:HIGH QUALITY PROGRAM . Delivers service promise as evidenced by metrics in all unit practices and programs. Provides leadership collaboratively with the Nurse Manager in proactively developing quality-driven and cost-effective initiatives.Human Resource Leadership: The Assistant Nurse Manager in collaboration with the Nurse Manager leads a positive work environment that facilitates the delivery of excellent patient and caregiver experiences. Staff are highly engaged, as evidenced by relevant metrics.Management of the Patient Care Environment: The Assistant Nurse Manager is a leader who is highly visible in the patient care unit and is responsible for the effective management of patient progress and outcomes of care.Financial Growth and Stewardship: The Assistant Nurse Manager is accountable for managing within budget in collaboration with the Nurse Manager as evidenced by metrics.Operational Planning: The Assistant Nurse Manager, in concert with the Nurse Manager, sets a progressive pace for performance improvement and creates plans that have a positive impact on the delivery of patient care.Staff education/training, the establishment of a learning environment, in partnership with a nurse Educator and Manager.Responsible for direct nurse supervision on weekends and off shifts, in partnership with the clinical supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS:Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience with the most appropriate patient population being served by the care team.Education: AND required; BSN preferred.You Belong At BaystateAt Baystate Health we know that treating one another with dignity and equity is what elevates respect for our patients and staff.
