In this role, you will be responsible for showcasing the full range of New York Life Investments' capabilities to a select group of institutional investors. Your primary goal will be to meet our capital-raising objectives across both private and public markets.As a key member of the newly established Americas Institutional Distribution unit, you will play a vital role in representing our investment strategies across the Americas. This position requires you to identify and pursue new business opportunities within the institutional investor sector, develop and execute strategic sales plans, and cultivate strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in private equity and private credit and a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets with institutional investors. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our firm's growth and success in a dynamic industry.What You’ll Do:Acquire new clients for the firm by winning new mandates and making additional sales to existing clients.Manage relationships to protect existing mandates, proactively identifying opportunities and risks, and ensuring client satisfaction.Develop influential relationships with key decision-makers within investor organizations, including investment staff, field consultants, investment boards, and other influencers.Educate, service, sell, and defend the firm’s broad investment management capabilities in an effective, concise, and impactful manner to generate partnerships and commercial results.Clearly articulate the value proposition, differentiation, and competitive edge of New York Life Investments' boutique specialization model, motivating institutional investors to engage further and develop business relationships with New York Life Investments and individual boutiques.Collaborate with other distribution professionals, including consultant relations, portfolio management, and marketing, to deepen partnerships with prospects, clients, and consultants.Advance relationship development and sales plans with key objectives for assigned institutional investors, working in partnership with investment teams, senior Institutional leadership, the Consultant Relations team, and other distribution professionals.Execute growth plan objectives, hitting retention, new sales, prospecting, pipeline, and activity goals.Collaborate proactively and productively with colleagues across all New York Life Investments affiliates to generate new relationships, cross-sell opportunities, and new business flows.Regularly communicate market intelligence and trends gained from activity with institutional investors, external conferences, tools, and publications, and share these insights across our Institutional and Investment teams.Transparently share marketplace feedback through regular dialogue, meeting notes, and updating activity in the firm’s CRM.Provide regular updates on new business and at-risk pipelines, ensuring they are maintained regularly.Work with the highest levels of integrity, transparency, and collaboration.Possess strong overall knowledge and share insights on institutional demand and expectations within the alternatives and traditional investment landscapes.Articulate and explain core investment strategies to satisfy stakeholders across the organization, as well as investors and consultants.What You’ll Bring:Entrepreneurial and highly motivated team player with proven communication and distribution skills.10+ years in the investment management industry with experience in private equity and private credit.Demonstrable network of investor contacts across client segments and regions – e.g., pension plans, insurance companies, endowments/foundations, consultants, and family offices – ideally with established access to private credit and private markets decision-makers.In-depth knowledge and understanding of industry trends and investor’s regulatory requirements, including various fund vehicles and SMAs.Demonstration of broader knowledge of other assets classes as well as experience in multiple geographic markets, including the US, Asia and Europe is a significant advantage.Excellent communication skills, with presentation experience in small and large group settings. Ability to effectively integrate into a well-established organization.Confident and decisive, with a strong voice, yet highly collaborative.FINRA licensing preferred.Pay TransparencySalary Range: $180,000 - $220,000Discretionary bonus eligible: YesActual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
