Job DescriptionThe Highlights:The Research Analyst works closely with DePaul University leadership on projects requiring various forms of research, data management, and sharing of results, and reports to the Associate Provost for Student Success and Accreditation. The Research Analyst provides extensive assistance to Academic Program Review (APR) through research and analysis, supervision of logistical support, and drafting of documents. The Research Analyst is a liaison to Institutional Research and Market Analytics (IRMA) and the Center for Teaching and Learning. The Research Analyst will assist in preparation for dean reviews and Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accreditation reviews and conduct research projects for Academic Affairs as needed. The Research Analyst also serves as the sole system administrator for DePaul's course evaluation system, working closely with the Associate Provost for Global Engagement and Online Learning. The Research Analyst is the main contact with Informations Services and the vendor that provides the cloud-based system, Explorance. The Research Analyst ensures quality and continuity of service of the course evaluation system.What You'll Do:Academic Program ReviewSupport the University's Academic Program Review process by determining the data needs of academic units under review; retrieving, analyzing, and presenting data; and working with the Chair of Academic Program Review. Support includes conducting and analyzing survey data, running focus groups, and creating data packages containing faculty, alumni, and student data for the units. Coordinate with IRMA, Center for Teaching and Learning, and other units conducting institutional research to generate data as needed. Collaborate with units across the university on APR, including working directly with faculty and departments to analyze and interpret university data. Provide logistical support for APR, including communication with faculty and departments, coordinating quarterly APR meetings.Course evaluation system administrationServe as system administrator for eXplorance Blue. Quarterly set up of evaluation system, including management of communication flow with stakeholders. Respond to faculty and department requests related to the logistics and specifics of administering course evaluations and accessing reports. Participate in committee meetings regarding system governance. Maintain communication with vendor on technical/logistical issues resulting from internal tickets.Additional DutiesFulfill ad hoc data requests for various departments. Collaborate across the university on Dean Review, HLC-related research projects, and other projects as assigned. Provide logistical support for HLC-related processes.What You'll Need:Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.Experience in higher education context.Comfort with learning new technology and systems.Familiarity with trends in higher education, particularly regarding issues of student retention and degree completion a plus.Advanced knowledge of database and statistics software (Access, Tableau, SPSS, Qualtrics desired).Ability to use pertinent data packages (Ability to use HTML desired).Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, and Sharepoint desired).Experience in presenting data.Demonstrated skills in quantitative research, data analysis, and survey design.Excellent writing skills and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with a variety of faculty and staff committees and task forces as well as the ability to work independently on a variety of projects.Ability to be a self-starter and operate independently a must.Ability to define, design, and execute research projects both collaboratively and independently.Strong planning, organizational, problem solving, diplomatic, and decision-making skills.Position requires travel between two campuses.Perks:Working for a stable and well-known University that values diversity and inclusion.Top choice medical, dental, and vision benefits.Retirement plan matching contribution of 10%.Tuition waivers for employees and dependents.Generous paid time off, sick time, holidays, floating holidays, and more!For consideration, please include a resume and cover letter.
