4200 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008Brief Description of Duties:The incumbent works under the direction of the Dean, performing a wide range of routine administrative functions associated with managing the day-to-day operation of the Dean’s office. The incumbent is expected to perform assigned duties with a high degree of independence, confidentiality, professionalism, initiative, and efficiency, exercising good judgment and paying attention to detail.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for coordinating communications with the Dean’s office, reviewing correspondence, and coordinating the Dean's activities.Maintain the Dean’s office files and serve as a repository for confidential records of faculty, staff, educational collaborators, and program sponsors.Provide administrative support to the Dean including correspondence with the University community and stakeholders on a wide range of special projects as assigned by the Dean.Serve as an information source for students, faculty, administrators, and the community on matters regarding the unit’s educational programs and/or university policies, procedures, and activities.Provide secretarial services for the Dean, including correspondence, reports to the American Bar Association.Prepare various monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the Dean.Type a variety of correspondence, minutes of meetings, documents, and reports ensuring correct grammar, spelling, and style.Plan and coordinate activities relating to the Dean’s office responsibilities and services to other areas of the college, sponsoring agencies, external clients, and interest groups.Serve as the unit’s point of contact with the Office of Academic Affairs and the Office of Finance and Administration on administrative matters.Serve as the Dean’s liaison to faculty and staff members, academic program directors, and committees on matters related to program activities, responsibilities, and assignments.Exercise discretion and take independent action on behalf of the Dean on routine matters and in emergency situations.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Job Requirements:Bachelor’s degree preferred.At least five (5) years of related experience, preferably in an academic setting.Information to Applicant:Collective Bargaining Unit (Union):
