The Department of Psychiatry at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, invites applicants for a full-time academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Clinical Faculty Appointment (CFA). The department is expanding its clinical and research programs and seeks an academic psychiatrist with interest and experience in psychosomatic medicine and psycho-oncology. MD Anderson is consistently ranked as the United States' leading institution for cancer care, presenting substantial opportunities for clinical experience and collaboration. The Department of Psychiatry offers unique potential for collaborative research with distinguished programs within the institution. Additionally, it has programmatic and teaching affiliations with the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.

Ideal candidates will be prepared to provide high-quality patient care in ambulatory clinical and inpatient consultation-liaison settings, supervise and educate trainees, supervise advanced practice providers, and participate in clinical research and scholarly activities. Candidates should be well-trained clinicians with clinical and academic interests in cancer's psychiatric and psychosocial impact. Applicants must hold an MD or equivalent degree and be eligible for full medical licensure in Texas. ABPN eligibility/certification in Psychiatry is required, and fellowship training/certification in Psychosomatic Medicine is highly desirable.

Work Location:

HybridThis position has a target base salary of $260,218 to $329,701 and is eligible for incentive compensation, comprehensive health, wellness, time off, savings, and retirement benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable.
