NUTRITION PART-TIME LECTURER POOL FOR CLINICAL NUTRITION HOSPITAL PRECEPTORS. The Food Science and Nutrition Department within the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at Cal Poly is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers to precept dietetic interns during their clinical rotations at a partner hospital. This position requires working closely with the dietetic internship administrative team and local hospital staff to plan and implement competency-based experiences and assignments to meet the Standards for Dietetic Internships as set forth by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Positions available as determined by need during the 2024-25 academic year. Teaching assignments could include FSN 551, 552, and 553, Medical Nutrition Therapy Practicum I, II, and III, respectively.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSAn earned bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, or closely related field and a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience OR an earned master’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, or closely related field, and a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience.RD/RDN credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and maintain credential during appointment.Demonstrated commitment to and evidence of quality, student-centered learning, precepting, or teaching, as well as the ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings.Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster’s degree strongly preferred.Preference will be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment. Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities.SPECIAL CONDITIONSThe person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
