Junior Paralegal

to join our team in our

Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, or Los Angeles

offices.If in our Seattle office, we offer a hybrid work engagement. If in our Portland, San Francisco, or Los Angeles office, this position offers the flexibility to be fully remote while working within reasonable commuting distance from any of our offices.This position supports an innovative client project team that handles a variety of legal requests. Primary responsibilities include drafting responses to legal requests such as subpoenas, arbitration demands, or small claims; submitting requests for data to clients; overseeing tracking systems; data entry; serving as a liaison with the client; drafting correspondence; and escalating legal questions. Close attention to detail, sound judgment, excellent writing skills, and careful organization are needed. Type, format, and edit correspondence and legal documents, with short notice and tight deadlinesCollect, organize, and save data and documentsSubmission of data requests to clientAnalyze basic legal requests and escalate for attorney review, as neededReview documents in Relativity and assist in managing production of documentsCommunicate by telephone, email, and mail with project team members; clients; and counsel and other legal professionals outside the firmAnswer, screen, and respond to phone callsAccurately and completely record billable time spent and tasks performed in accordance with firm policy and client-imposed billing protocols; enter and release time promptly in compliance with the firm’s announced deadlinesEnter data into tracking systemsOther duties as assignedJoin us if you have:

2+ years as a legal professional (legal assistant or paralegal) or substantial law-related undergraduate coursework with paralegal trainingA four-year college degreeInterest in technology in the workplace and technology companiesDemonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and independentlyStrong skills in word processing and computer use: ability to type 65 wpm with high accuracyHigh attention to detail and sensitivity to confidential materialsHigh level of energy; able to work at a fast pace; multitask; and prioritize tasksDemonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented, service-focused environment and to handle stressful situations in a calm, composed mannerProficiency in MS Office Products (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat or NuanceExcellent grammar, proofreading and organizational skillsAbility to understand and follow work instructionsAvailability and willingness to work overtime as needed or requestedStrong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, with all levels of a professional services organization, including interpersonal skillsStrong customer service, analysis, troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsMust be a team player and have ability to work independently, with minimal supervisionPrevious experience in a law firm or professional services organization, supporting a multi-office environment, preferredWho We Are

It is not intended to include all duties and responsibilities.Washington StateThe annualized salary range for this position in Washington is $78,000 to $87,000 ($40.00 - $44.62 hourly). Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate’s education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, 11 paid holidays each year and an employee assistance program. For full-time employees, the initial vacation benefit is 15 days per year and 11 days of sick leave per year, accrued bi-weekly. Additional voluntary programs include: voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, and pet insurance. Commuter and Transit programs are also available.CaliforniaThe annualized salary range for this position in Los Angeles is $76,000 to $81,600 ($38.97 - $41.85 hourly); and in San Francisco is $83,000 to $89,000 ($42.56 - $45.64 hourly). Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program.
