Description
Full-time, non-supervisory position.Some travel is required.On-call duties may be required.Applicant must be authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship.This is a remote position within the United States.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and support telco voice service solutions, including premise-based and cloud-based solutions from various providers.Lead/manage projects of varying complexity, which may be cross-departmental.Perform system upgrades and subscriber migrations.Work directly with clients to troubleshoot issues in existing systems.Document and diagram networks, relevant processes, and troubleshooting steps.Communicate technical concepts clearly and understandably.Keep up with industry developments, new technologies, and best practices.Improve knowledge and expertise through independent research, practice, and industry-accepted certifications.THIS IS A ON CALL AS NEEDED ROLE.
Qualifications, Education & Experience
A strong understanding of telco voice principles.Proficiency with both TDM and SIP/VoIP technologies.Understanding networking concepts and IP networks.Hands-on experience with voice equipment from various vendors.Hands-on experience with session border controllers.Understanding of DC power systems.Understanding of safety practices in a central office environment.Proficiency with Windows-based computers and the Office product suite.Good oral and written communication skills.Ability to work as part of a team.Excellent problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple projects.Attention to detail and good judgment.Desire to learn and apply knowledge immediately.Experience with IP network equipment is a plus.Experience with telco access network equipment is a plus.IP network certifications are a plus.
Education and Experience
Minimum four (4) years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting telco voice systems.Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Management Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
