The future success of USD relies on the contributions of those who seek to foster the development of engaged global citizens and an earnest confrontation of humanity’s urgent challenges.Detailed Description:The Department of Communication at the University of San Diego is seeking a tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor with a scholarly interest at the intersection of organizational communication and public relations. Applicants should have a strong background in communication theory and the foundations of the discipline.The Department of Communication welcomes faculty members who are innovative in their pedagogical and research approaches to investigating communication. Our faculty members represent the breadth of the discipline. Qualified candidates should take a student-centered approach to undergraduate teaching and have a strong commitment to the liberal arts. Our teacher-scholar model includes a 3-3 teaching load. Candidates will teach lower-division communication courses, and upper-division courses in organizational communication, strategic communication, and public relations, and/or within their area of research expertise.Job Requirements:Candidates will hold a PhD in communication or related fields. ABD candidates will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Qualified candidates should also have university-level teaching experience and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. Candidates are also expected to build and maintain a research agenda, participate in university service, and advise undergraduate students.Salary and Benefits:$6,932-7,250/month; Excellent Benefits.
