The future success of USD relies on the contributions of those who seek to foster the development of engaged global citizens and an earnest confrontation of humanity’s urgent challenges.Detailed Description:The University of San Diego, Professional and Continuing Education is looking for an adjunct faculty member to teach and/or develop an online class for our Medical Billing and Coding course. The course is offered in the online self-paced format and students have 6 months to complete it.Teaching Responsibilities:Teaching and assessing student progress in meeting the learning objectives through formal and informal assessment.Holding office hours.Meeting required deadlines for submitting grades, attendance, and other information as requested.Adhering to safety procedures and departmental standards.Development Responsibilities:Working with the Learning Design Team to create and develop the course in our learning management system while meeting agreed-upon deliverable dates.Job Requirements:Required Qualifications:Minimum of an associate degree in medical billing and coding as well as certification, including passing the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Certification Exam.Experience in the medical field, particularly in positions with responsibilities related to billing.Knowledge of medical records management, medical terminology, administrative duties, skills for electronic medical record software programs, and healthcare theory and reasoning.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with the Canvas learning management system is a plus.While we appreciate your interest in employment with the University of San Diego, we can only consider applicants who are or who will be authorized to work in the U.S. At this time, the department is unable to sponsor an employment-based visa (including H-1B).BB Positions:$32-40/hourThe salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position.
