Compensation will be commensurate with education and experienceEmployee category: StaffDepartment: Facility ServicesReports to: Chief Financial OfficerFLSA status: ExemptJob Code: FF048FTEDIRLocation: Primarily Main Campus, but any other college location as assigned by the appropriate administratorSUMMARYResponsible for coordinating the building maintenance, custodial services, grounds services, construction services, mail distribution, centralized shipping and receiving, and fleet management.POSITION DESCRIPTIONOversee maintenance, custodial, and grounds maintenance units for all locations of the College.Oversee mail operations, centralized shipping & receiving, and fleet management.Oversee project management for capital improvement projects for the College.Ensure proper maintenance and operation of all building systems including electrical, plumbing and HVAC of the College; manage the building controls systems administered by facilities.Support events and scheduling with to provide event setup and custodial.Administer the energy management of the College.Manage annual maintenance contracts for services.Oversee the work order system for Facility Services.Manage the departmental budget ensuring needs are addressed in a timely manner within budget and adhering to the purchasing policy.All other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESKnowledge of facilities management, building systems, and capital improvements.Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of construction and maintenance best practices.Possess strong organizational and project management skills managing several projects simultaneously.Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.High energy, self-starter who can work with the team to accomplish the departmental goals.Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships and establish credibility with all levels of employee in the organization. Must demonstrate a commitment to and ability to work with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff positions.Detail-oriented.Strong understanding of safety requirements and best practices for Facility Services and operating equipment.Knowledge of hazardous materials and protocols dealing with proper containment.Knowledge of principles of sustainability and energy management.Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree.Seven to Ten (7-10) years in facility management experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster’s degree.WORKING CONDITIONSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The Director can modify their work schedule to best meet the needs of the college and the facilities employees with supervisor approval.
