YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Summary:

This is a role for someone who has passion andaptitude for quality and food safety. Working experience as quality manager in afast passed food manufacturing environment is required. The right person willhave intimate knowledge of food safety protocols, as well as physical,chemical, and microbiological testing methods, as it relates to manufacturingand selling hydrocolloids (single and blended).

The role primarily entails leading and managing allmatters related to quality and food safety. Must be able to communicateeffectively with technical and commercial team members.

In this role, the candidate will have high visibilityas part of the high potential hydrocolloids business team at Colony Gums-Brenntag.

Job Description:
  • Works collaboratively with operations, R&D, corporate QA, and Sales.
  • Responsible for HACCP and other operational quality and food safety programs
  • Establishes and implements all essential product testing methods and SOPs.
  • Implements necessary modification to QA documents (specs, COA, MSDS, etc.)
  • Manages the R&D lab operations (test equipment, methods, work processes)
  • Ensures all incoming raw materials and outgoing product lots are in-specs.
  • Leads and manages any 3rd party audits relating to NGVP, Kosher, Halaal and other quality certification programs.
  • Maintains quality control documents and historical loot records.
  • Manages one or more lab technicians.


YOUR PROFILE

Education and Experience:
  • B.S. of M.S. Degree, Food Science, Microbiology, or related field
  • 3-5 years of work experience in managing quality at a food company
  • Knowledge of food processing and operations
