About this position

As a member of the Individual Investors (II) Growth Strategy team, the Senior Manager role is a highly visible position that leads critical change efforts, business value realization, and strategic project management to enable growth of the II business. The Individual Investor organization manages over $200B in client assets and serves 1.4 million investors. In support of the Growth Program for II, this individual will lead the development of business cases for strategic initiatives, build proposals to the senior leaders of the business, and play a leadership role within cross-functional, highly matrixed teams. The role both leads and supports many high-profile initiatives, is responsible for the successful delivery and business value realization of these initiative and will entail ongoing engagement with senior stakeholders across the II business.

Role Summary

Manages the life cycle for a portfolio of complex products and value-add offers that engage and deliver value to the client(s) within an assigned business unit. Makes recommendations on the strategy for those products and offers to management and senior staff.

Responsibilities
  • Develops project roadmaps and business cases in support of II growth, aligns to organizational Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), and establishes the economics of a given strategic initiative. Maps the vision of the initiative and the deliverables necessary to make it successful. Uses data and analysis from more junior staff to understand how to invest in and grow the identified opportunity.
  • Develops and supports the prioritization process for existing initiatives within the Growth Program and assists in the development of new strategic initiatives to build growth-driving capabilities/experiences, based on specialized knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Prepares recommendations for growth opportunities, next-gen technologies, and go-to-market process improvements. As a skilled communicator, influences business and functional leaders to adopt recommendations and navigate through complex decisions with strategic outcomes.
  • Makes recommendations on which key performance indicators/measurements should be recorded to measure initiative effectiveness, and uses analysis done by junior staff to create reports that can be used to update senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Works closely with partner teams (Marketing, Sales, CX, Advisory, Shared Services, Technology, Business Intelligence, etc.) to identify growth opportunities and develop strategic priorities.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
  • 8+ years of total relevant work experience


Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred experience in management consulting and/or corporate strategy role
  • Experience in retail (B2C) Financial Services industry a plus
  • Strong ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Strong analytical abilities to inform strategies with data insights
  • Deep understanding of digital and traditional marketing, sales, and customer experience (CX) in delivering integrated growth-driving initiatives
  • Experience in leading the development of business cases and critical change initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal skills - Works well in a collaborative, matrixed environment, and capable of creating strong partnerships across business areas
  • Excellent presentation and influencing skills, including both written and verbal communication skills
  • Some Project Management experience
  • Proven ability to research, identify, and interpret market needs
  • Proven ability to navigate across organizations and gain buy-in for the initiatives you are leading
  • Self-directed and results oriented with proven abilities to take initiative while delivering timely results
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to successfully support multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully operate in ambiguity and be a resourceful problem solver.
  • Strong curiosity and dedication to seeking out opportunities for improvement
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of functional areas: Sales, Marketing, Client Experience, Technology, Advisory, and Shared Services
