Sourcing Specialist

OVERVIEW
The Sourcing Specialist will partner with suppliers to ensure our customer supply needs are met. This position will set-up new material masters in SAP and rapidly process quotation requests with suppliers. They will maintain a close working relationship with the Materials Management and Sales Departments so there is timely availability of product for shipment to customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supplier Management
Manage supplier contracts in a manner that ensures all requirements and special terms and conditions are met.Manage supplier pricing and purchasing terms including but not limited to: Incoterms, freight costs, payment terms, rebates, etc..Work with assigned Suppliers to drive improvement on the Supplier Scorecards. Work with the Quality Department to ensure that plans of action are developed and implemented for improving poor performing suppliers and rewarding top performing suppliers.Maintain and enhance strong partnerships with existing suppliers through excellent communication and collaborative approach in resolving issues and drive cost savings.Visit and evaluate supplier’s technical and manufacturing capabilities.Evaluate potential suppliers.Assist in vendor invoice reconciliation with global AP department.Quoting
Coordinate request for quotation (RFQ), process them and respond to sales within the established time target.Work cross-functionally with sales teams to meet quote timelines and goals.Top performers will meet and exceed same-day and next-day quote goals.Materials Strategies
Execute material strategies for assigned material groups, working with suppliers to lower total landed costs.Be the knowledge expert on assigned material categories guiding the organization on product usage and specifications.Work with Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain Planners in solving supply issues impacting markets or customers.Work with Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain Leadership & Logistics on New Product Introduction.Utilize cost analysis, price analysis and cost modeling techniques to manage supplier costs in SAP.Assist with Large Key Customer contracts—work closely with the Supply Chain team and appropriate sales team to establish pricing and inventory levels that support our contracts with our customers.Work with sales and marketing teams to utilize cross-selling and SKU rationalization opportunities to combine product families or groupings to optimize sales opportunities and maximize working capital.Team Support and Development
Actively participate in process improvement projects.Recommend or create at least 1 process improvement that lead to either cost reduction, supply chain improvement or inventory reduction.Learn how to run team reports for department KPI’s.Provide expertise in training and operation of standard SAP sourcing processes to Sales and Sourcing staff.*The above represents the essential job functions that you are assigned to perform in your job. Education and/or Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Management, Sourcing, Logistics, Operations Management, Mathematics or Economics and/or 2+ years of related experience.Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations:
A valid driver’s license if located within the United States.Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and business information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Computer Applications Skills:
Ability to work in a Windows environment. Possess advanced skills in Microsoft Excel—Pivot Tables and formula calculations, PowerPoint and Word. SAP experience is preferred.
