Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a Desktop Engineer with a strong technical background. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and documenting desktop images. Additionally, they will diagnose issues with desktop images and virtual workspaces, as well as maintain and document the required application list for both desktops and virtual desktops.

Job Responsibilities

Patching of desktop and virtual systemsWork with Security for remediation of desktop vulnerabilities in a timely mannerRecommend hardware requirements for desktop purchasePeriodic review of VDI, images and hardware for user experienceCreate, maintain, and deploy End User Virtual desktopsProvides systems programming services on projects and initiativesMay write code using lower-level and/or higher-level languagesDevelops and/or modifies systems for use internallyTranslates/compiles into machine language for use on specific hardwareSupports testing, deployment, and maintenance activities by correcting programming errors and coding software enhancementsPerforms a range of assignments and may lead projects within own disciplineApplies working knowledge of business and best practices gained through understanding of key business drivers and recognition of how own area integrates within organizationWorks within broad guidelines and polices to accomplish objectives and goalsSolves moderately complex to complex problems and analyzes possible solutions using technical experience, judgement and precedentsExplains complex and/or sensitive information in a straightforward mannerActs as a resource for colleagues, provides guidance to less experienced team membersIndividual contributor working with limited oversightPerforms all other duties as assigned by managementEducation

Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferredExperience

Typically requires 2+ years of related work experience
