Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent to join the team! You will be creating and implementing strategies in our purchasing process to increase savings, reduce cost, and improve efficiency. You will work closely with the rest of the company to ensure needs are met across the board. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of purchasing procedures and contracts, has strong interpersonal skills, and has strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs and increase savings
Manage a team of Receiving and Admin personnel, providing mentorship and support as needed
Create short and long-term goals for your department
Work closely with other departments, including sales and marketing, project management and manufacturing to ensure needs are being met
Qualifications
Extensive experience with purchasing, managing inventory, and creating policies and procedures around purchasing
Knowledge of contracts and negotiations within the scope of corporate purchasing
Experience managing a team
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with industrial equipment and components- piping, valves, fittings, controls, structural metals, etc.
