About the Role
We are looking for a qualified Software Development Engineer In Test to join our Mobility Management team in San Diego, CA. As part of the Mobility Management team, you will be responsible for our enterprise-grade Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile App Management (MAM) solutions. These products enable fleet managers to control their drivers’ experience with the click of a button. In this role, you will focus on software quality and automation delivering on our goal to reinvent our MDM and MAM solutions, and ensuring defects do not escape to production environments.
Our stack is wide, diverse, and evolving. As a SDET, you are eager to take on multiple languages, frameworks, and contribute to future architecture decisions. You are versed in Agile/Scrum methodologies and are comfortable with giving and taking technical direction.
Our new web product development is in Javascript/Typescript/Node, but we continue to support code in PHP/Laravel as well. Our web front ends utilize Vue. Our mobile apps are written primarily in Kotlin with some Java. There’s a lot of surface area to work on!
This role will require working 1 day a week at the San Diego headquarters.
Essential Responsibilities
Designing and implementing test cases in Testrail to ensure the quality and reliability of our web and mobile applications
Writing and executing automated tests using various testing frameworks to verify the functionality and performance of our applications
Performing manual testing of our applications for test cases that are not covered by automation
Collaborating closely with engineering and product to understand the requirements and ensure the applications meet these requirements
Working closely with the engineering team to help debug and troubleshoot issues that arise during the testing process
Reporting and analyzing test results to identify areas of improvement and make recommendations to the engineering and product teams
Maintaining our test automation frameworks
Experience
3 - 5 years experience writing test automation code (Javascript/Typescript and/or Python)
Experience understanding, writing, and using Gherkin language for tests
Experience writing and managing test plans in Testrail
Experience testing web applications (both frontends and APIs)
Experience testing Android mobile or tablet applications
Experience using the Page Object Model design pattern
Experience writing end-to-end tests across platforms
Experience conducting load and performance testing
Experience reviewing requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
Experience with shell scripting
Skills of a successful candidate
An automation-first testing mindset
Good technical foundation with ability to pick up new skills and adapt quickly
Desire to learn new technologies while supporting existing
Acute attention to detail
An ability to think up new ways to break our applications
A commitment to software craftsmanship and practices like code review, design patterns, etc.

This is an exempt role. Our job titles for each posting may span across more than one job level. The estimated base salary for this role is between $87,980 and $148,000. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salaries across all US locations. Compensation packages are based on many factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, work experience, relevant trainings and certifications, business needs, market demands and specific geographical location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
