This position is located in the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU), Office of the President in Arlington, VA.DSCA's mission is to advance U.S. national security and foreign policy interests by building the capacity of foreign partners in order to encourage and enable allies and partners to respond to shared challenges.DSCU is the DoD’s center of intellectual life for SC. DSCU delivers the education, training, research, and analysis to the U.S. Security Cooperation Workforce and the institutional capacity building to our allies and partners to meet the current and future global security cooperation mission.DSCU supports DSCA’s congressionally directed mission of training, educating, and providing for the long-term development of the SC workforce and enabling partner nations (PNs) to effectively and responsibly manage their security institutions. Through the work of DSCU, U.S. and PN personnel become SC community practitioners and responsible, effective members of security establishments committed to the rule of law, civilian control over the military, and respect for democracy and international human rights.We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic, and talented individuals with expertise and significant experience in an international context to perform the following duties:Serve as the Deputy Assistant Director (Chief Academic Officer) responsible for providing academic governance and quality control over the University’s education and training programs. Responsible for the development and implementation of educational policies and procedures necessary to achieve the academic objectives of DSCU.Provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of the University’s accreditation program, including academics, faculty development, administrative policies, student affairs, enrollment, and other key areas.Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of a faculty development plan, which includes academic milestones, promotions, and recertification process to ensure DSCU faculty maintains a high-level of academic professionalism.Serve as focal point for the review and approval of all DSCU curricula and course schedules, ensuring faculty a balance between instruction, research, and administrative duties, and work with the Chief of Staff to ensure integration with the operating budget.Advise senior leaders on strategic opportunities identified through program evaluation efforts, the need for quality and process improvement activities, adjustments in the alignment of resources and balance in faculty duty assignments.Serve as a representative of the DSCU President and the Director of DSCA in dealings with a wide range of SC stakeholders in the DoD and other interagency partners, to include industry.QUALIFICATIONS:

Your resume must support the following requirements to be considered for the position. Please ensure transcripts reflecting conferred Terminal degree and Master’s degree are also provided with your application:A terminal degree in a Security Cooperation relevant field (e.g., history, political science, international relations, etc.) is required.A graduate degree in a discipline that supports the needs of DSCU and significant prior experience in international security policy and strategy development, comparative political systems and defense organization and management.Prior experience in higher education or administrative position of substantial responsibility in academic administrative management, such as Dean, member of Board of Advisors, or Provost is desired.Demonstrated leadership experience in an academic, government or military academic setting.Five years of experience in higher education is highly desired.Experience with designing and implementing a diverse array of curricula.Experience in professional military education is highly desirable.Extensive knowledge of planning and programming with an ability to collect, analyze, and use academic data to conduct planning.Knowledge of curriculum design, instructional design, learning assessment, and learning theory.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:Must be a United States Citizen.Must be able obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug testing.Must be able to work other than normal hours, which may include evening, weekends, and/or holidays and/or overtime.Must be able to travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Salary will be based on commensurate experience, demonstrated ability, and education.Recruitment or Relocation incentives may be authorized.A probationary period may be required.Applications are accepted from
