Position overview
Delta Utilities is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Facilities to oversee the management and operation of 15 offices and facilities within the organization. This is a full-time position based in New Orleans, Louisiana.This individual will be responsible for ensuring the safety, efficiency, and functionality of all facilities while maintaining compliance with industry regulations and company standards. The Director of Facilities will also lead the team responsible for the maintenance, security, and overall operational efficiency of the facilities.Key Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operations of all facilities to ensure that they are safe, efficient, and well-maintained.Develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and reliability of facility assets.Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for the upkeep and repair of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).Guarantee all facilities comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.Implement and oversee safety programs and emergency response plans for all locations and conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential risks.Develop and manage the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high standards.Track and report on expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.Develop relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure the timely and effective delivery of services and to secure favorable terms for the organization through the negotiation of contracts and service agreements.Oversee space planning and utilization of all offices and facilities, promoting efficient use of space to best meet organizational needs.Manage office relocations, expansions, and renovations as needed.Lead, mentor, and manage the facilities management team, providing guidance and support to team members.Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous growth within the team.Monitor and manage energy usage across all facilities, identifying opportunities for reduction and efficiency.Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in facilities management, business management, or a related field; relevant certifications such as Certification in Facility Management (CFM), LEED or similar are considered a plus.At least seven to ten years of relevant experience in facilities management, preferably within the utility industry or an equally regulated environment, with at least five years of experience in a leadership role overseeing multiple sites.Developed experience in facility management, maintenance, and safety standards.Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.Ability to develop and manage budgets and financial plans.Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Strong understanding of facility management and its tools.Ability to travel frequently between facility locations.About Delta Utilities
Delta Utilities is a leading natural gas utility with a focus on safe, dependable service to customers. Headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, the utility will serve nearly 600,000 customers and become one of the leading natural gas providers in Louisiana and Mississippi and among the top 40 providers in the United States.In 2023, Entergy announced that it had entered into an agreement with Delta Utilities to sell its Louisiana gas distribution business. The natural gas utility currently serves more than 200,000 customers across East Baton Rouge and Orleans parishes. In February 2024, Delta Utilities entered into an agreement with CenterPoint Energy to acquire its Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas businesses, which currently serve approximately 381,000 customers. Once the transactions are complete, Entergy's Louisiana natural gas operations and CenterPoint Energy's Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas systems will be operated by Delta Utilities. Learn more:
